BLACK BEAR & WOOD BISON COMBINATION HUNT

We have had numerous donations over the years from Andrew Lake Lodge and this year’s combo
hunt makes this unique donation five years in a row.  The seven day adventure begins with a baited
Bear hunt followed by the exciting opportunity to hunt one of North America’s largest big game
animals, a Wood Bison. Their exclusive hunting area boasts some 5500 square miles of hunting
territory, bordering on Wood Buffalo National Park.  With 23 million acres of protected parkland, this
is the largest protected area in North America. Their area supports an abundant herd of free ranging
Wood Bison. These are not the docile Plains Bison so typical in our Western States but extremely
wild, forest dwelling Wood Bison.  This is one of the very few places you can hunt a wild Wood Bison.
Archery, muzzle loader and rifle hunts are available. The lucky purchaser of the 2006 ECFNAW
donation scored with a big black bear the first day and wood bison on the second day and his
hunting partner enjoyed success also,  scoring on 2 black bears.   Over the past ten years our clients
at Andrew Lake Lodge have taken some of Alberta’s largest bears.  Average skull size is 18 - 20
inches.  In 2007 we saw 90 % success on single bear hunts and 150 % success on two bear hunts.
2007 also saw the most successful bison hunts yet with 100% success! Huge bulls were taken with
rifle, crossbow and archery! The package includes an seven day hunt between May 15 and June 15,
2008.  Hunt can be postponed until 2009.  Included is transportation from Fort Smith, NWT, meals,
lodging and transport to and from camp.  Options include a second bear trophy fee of $1000. Fly out
fishing trip for $650. The Bison hunt carries a $5,000. Trophy fee on success only.  Not included are
Bear license $428. Fishing $60. Buffalo not required.  Second hunter cost $5495.00. Non-hunter
